Difficult, uncomfortable, and offensive moments emerge while teaching, sometimes when we least expect them. A student saying something unknowingly cruel. The professor makes a joke that unintentionally offends. Preparing for these moments can help us respond in ways that restore a productive and trusting learning environment. Please join us for a collaborative, interactive workshop on different ways of responding to such incidents. This is a chance for faculty to share with each other what has worked for them, and brainstorm the best ways of responding to difficult classroom moments.
This event is hosted by the CTL with EVPAA Joanne Roberts.
